Interface element

Control Type

Description
Search for:

Combo Box

Selects between searching for rules or itemsets.
Search by:

Combo Box

Selects between search modes.
Filter out:

Combo Box

Selects between filter modes.
Maximum no.:

Textbox

Places an upper limit on the number of rules or itemsets that will be returned.  Magnum Opus will find this number of rules or itemsets, unless too few satisfy the other constraints.
Maximum size:

Textbox

For attribute-value data, limits the number of attributes that may appear on the LHS of a rule or in an itemset.
For transaction data, limits the number of items that may appear on the LHS of a rule or in an itemset.
Minimum leverage:

Textbox

Places a lower limit on leverage (expressed as a proportion of the data).  Rules or itemsets with lower leverage will be discarded.
Minimum leverage count:

Textbox

Places a lower limit on leverage (expressed as a number of cases).  Rules or itemsets with lower leverage will be discarded.
Minimum coverage:

Textbox

Places a lower limit on coverage (expressed as a proportion of the data).  Rules or itemsets with lower coverage will be discarded.
Minimum coverage count:

Textbox

Places a lower limit on coverage (expressed as a number of cases).  Rules or itemsets with lower coverage will be discarded.
Minimum support:

Textbox

Places a lower limit on support (expressed as a proportion of the data).  Rules with lower support will be discarded.
Minimum support count:

Textbox

Places a lower limit on support (expressed as a number of cases).  Rules with lower support will be discarded.
Minimum strength:

Textbox

Places a lower limit on strength.  Rules with lower strength will be discarded.
Minimum lift:

Textbox

Places a lower limit on lift.  Rules with lower leverage will be discarded.
Use m-estimate

Check Box

If checked, Bayesian m-estimates are used for strength and lift.
Values allowed on LHS /
Values allowed in itemset:

Listbox

For attribute-value data, limits to those highlighted the attribute-values that may appear on the LHS of a rule or in an itemset.
For transaction data, limits to those highlighted the items that may appear on the LHS of a rule or in an itemset.
Values allowed on RHS:

Listbox

For attribute-value data, limits to those highlighted the attribute-values that may appear on the RHS of a rule or in an itemset.
For transaction data, limits to those highlighted the items that may appear on the RHS of a rule or in an itemset.
